The Alabama Cooperative Extension System’s Urban Affairs and New Nontraditional Programs will celebrate Earth Day by participating in two upcoming Earth Day events.
The first event is the 2018 Earth Day Festival. It is schedule for Saturday, April 21st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hays Nature Preserve located at 7161 US Highway 431 South, Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. In partnership with the City of Huntsville Operation Green Team’s, for the past four years Alabama Extension has been a sponsor of the butterfly releases, one of the most anticipated Earth Day which will take place at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The second event is the 48 th Annual Earth Day Festival and Farmer’s Market at the Monte Sano State Park Picnic Area located at 5105 Nolen Avenue Southeast, Huntsville, Alabama. This event is scheduled for Sunday, April 22 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be over 50 earth friendly exhibitors on hand. Please note, there is a $10 parking fee is required; discount offered to seniors and military members.
